1. You own your automobile, so it is your right to have your automobile repaired at the repair facility of your choice. With the price of automobiles in today's economy, this is a major investment. No insurer can mandate which facility you use. Please visit the insurance commissioner's website at www.inscomm.state.ga.us, where you will find many facts that you may not be aware of.
2. If you have rental coverage, you need to check your policy regarding limits. There may be 30 days coverage; however, you may have a maximum amount allowed.
3. You have the right to have original manufactured parts put on your automobile, but you may be liable for the price difference due to the type of insurance coverage you purchased.
4. All deductibles are paid directly to the repair facility. Please note if the insurance company is going to pay the repair facility directly, the facility will have an authorization form for you to sign. In all other cases the check will be issued directly to you. At times, the check will have the lienholder's name on it, which is for their protection. In that case you will need to contact the lienholder and make arrangements with them so you will be able to pick up your automobile when repairs have been completed. Ask for any assistance you may need from our office and we will gladly assist with any needed paperwork.
5. In all cases we, the repair facility, must be paid at the time you pick up your automobile.
6. Use a repair facility you trust. A reputable facility will give you a warranty. Ask around and get references from people you know.
